This will open a submenu of options which includes: Edit HTMl / CSS and Edit Language
To check the version of your theme go to: Themes > Customize theme > Info
If using a version below v4.1 please use images of 600px wide where you show more than 1 per row.
If using 1 image within a row use a size of 1200px wide.
The height of these images is dictated entirely on the size of the images that you are using.
For Fashionopolism v4.1
Within Home page - Featured images 1 & Home page - Featured Images 2 you have options to choose how much of the page width will be taken up by each of your images.
You may choose to use the following sizes relative to the width of the page:
1/3 == 1/3 of the page width
2/3 == 2/3 of the page width
1/4 == 1/4 of the page width
1/2 == 1/2 of the page width
3/4 == 3/4 of the page width
full == 100% of the page width
Some math will come into play if you are working with a complex structure and the number will have to add up to 100% of the width when choosing your image layout.
For example showing 3 images at the following sizes
1/3 + 1/4 + 3/4 will spill onto the next row.
Here are some suggested configurations and image sizes.
2 Images in 1 row
Choose 2 images at 1/2 width
3 Images in 1 row
Choose 3 images at 1/3 width
4 images in 1 row
Choose 4 images at 1/4 width
You can also show 3 images at 1/3 and have an overlap as show in this demo:
For this we show 4 images from the home page - featured images 1 section.
Image 1 = 1/3 width ( Image used is: 438px wide x 583px tall )
Image 2 = 1/3 width ( Image used is: 438px wide x 291px tall )
Image 3 = 1/3 width ( Image used is: 438px wide x 291px tall )
Image 4 = 2/3 width ( Image used is 904px wide x 272px tall )
Experimenting is the best way to choose the layout.
