2. In the left sidebar click on the name of your theme
3. The theme version will be displayed within that drop-down
What are sections
When opening the Customize theme page you will see a left Sidebar with 2 tabs: Sections & Settings
Settings are global options that apply across your entire store and are not specific to a section.
Sections however are specific to the current template that you are seeing.
For example on the home page of your store you will have options to add sections which might include:
Slideshows, Image galleries, Featured products, Blog posts and more.
You can add these sections, drag them into a preferred order and remove them easily.
As you click into other content within your store. For instance a Collection page or a product page the Section menu on the left will change to show sections which are now available for selection on these pages too.
So when opening a collection page you can choose to show a sidebar, arrange products in 2, 3, or 4 per row and decide what you want your customers to see. The best way to learn is to explore your theme. Open some pages and see what options become available under that sections tab.
