Header & Navigation

Last Updated: Apr 24, 2017 03:27PM EDT
The Icon theme has a number of options for controlling the layout, look and style of the header. Here is a breakdown of the options and what each will do when adjusted.

Full screen width - Show the header and navigation at full screen width. When deselected this will be constrained to a maximum width of 1200px

Message bar - Add a text message to your customers informing them of Sales, Shipping deals or just a welcome message. With independent control for text size.

Logo - Add a logo image ( defaults to text only when not in use ) Control the width of that logo image when used and choose a left or centered position within the header.
*Center aligned logo is only advised on stores with minimal navigation links

Cart or Bag Icon - Toggle a Cart or bag Icon, when using bad it is advisable to edit your themes language setup to use Bag consistently instead of Add to Cart and My Cart etc...

Float header over slideshow - Homepage only - will show the header and navigation floating over the top of the slideshow instead of within it's own dedicated section above.
A Bottom border can also be added.

Navigation style - Full or Mobile layout options
Choose Mein menu - Allows you to choose which menu will be the primary navigation for your store

Mega Dropdown - the theme features a sticky navigation which will help your customers to find their way around your store regardless of what page they are on or where they have scrolled down to. Within this navigation you can also add a mega menu to one of the links in your main menu. This mega menu can show 4 menus from one single drop down, all that you need to do is enter the name of the link in your main menu that you want it to drop down from and then choose menus that are to show when this is hovered.

At the bottom of this section you will use the Content section to add menus to this mega dropdown.

Usage example:

A store has the following links in their main menu:
Home | Shop | Blog | About us

Shop is entered within the Mega drop down link title field.

Under the Content section at the bottom of the menu 3 out of a possible 4 menus have been chosen

When the Shop link will now show a mega menu containing those 3 menus.

When you have a link that points to a collection and that link also has a drop-down menu items from that linked collection will show within the navigation drop-down menu. This will only show if the primary link points to a collection, if it points to a page or other content then the products will not show.
